2025 Alumni Letter
Hello fellow Alumni!
This year marks the 120th year of the Kennebunk-Kennebunkport Alumni Association (KKAA)! Not only are we celebrating 120 years, but 2025 will be the 150th Commencement for Kennebunk High School!
It is my pleasure to invite you to attend our 2025 Annual Reunion Banquet. The banquet will be held Friday evening, June 20th, 2025, at The Nonantum Resort on Ocean Ave in Kennebunkport. To celebrate, we have some special surprises planned for this year’s banquet. (Please note that there will be no trolley transportation this year as the usage did not justify the cost.)
We will be hosting this year’s scholarship recipients and inviting them to share their post-graduate plans. This is an opportunity for alumni to meet the students who benefit from our scholarships.
Following dinner, a brief business meeting will feature the election of the board of directors and alumni officers, and presentation of the Richard Rouleau Life Service Award. The evening will conclude with a 50/50 raffle. If you are interested in participating as a board member or officer, please contact us by May 31, 2025.
The Class of 1955 will be celebrating their 70th reunion at the KKAA Banquet.
The Class of 1965 will be celebrating their 60th reunion at the KKAA Banquet. Please arrive early to enjoy chatting with your classmates. Please sign up by reserving your seat at the banquet. Any questions please contact Ann Winston Gebbia by phone (207) 251-1002 or email awgebbia1@gmail.com.
A plea for volunteers: In 2024, we were unable to participate in our largest fundraiser, the May Day festival, due to an insufficient number of volunteers. If we want to continue to provide scholarships, we need to boost our volunteer list. Sign-up cards will be available at the banquet. Volunteers who can help even for a few hours per event would be most welcome.
The Year in Review
Throughout this past year, we conducted and supported a variety of activities to raise money for the scholarship fund. This past year we sold food at the high school’s football games, Kennebunk’s HarvestFest and Kennebunkport’s Christmas Prelude, raising a total of $2,539. We still have one more event for the year: Kennebunk’s annual May Day festival. Additionally, last year’s annual banquet netted $5,945 in scholarship funds. Other donations that came in throughout the year made it possible for us to award $9,700 in scholarships to Class of 2024 graduates. Thank you to everyone involved in our fundraising efforts - whether you volunteered time, cooked for a sale, donated goods, or sent in dues and/or donations.
This year we purchased an online donor data management system called Little Green Light and have been busy populating it with alumni, dues and donation information. We will soon be able to add an online donation form to our website as well as track volunteer hours and activities. Please spread the word with your fellow classmates and ask them to send in their contact information so that we may keep our data up to date. It is possible that names may have dropped off the list over time.
Finally, if you want to reach out to us, please email us at the association email address below.
